Kilburn hosts community summit on riots

Kilburn is to host one of three community summits across Camden in the wake of the recent riots.   The meeting will be held on 6 September in Kingsgate Community Centre, from 18:30 to 20:30 (see flyer below).

Camden has organised these meetings in areas which saw disruption, heightened tension and police presence during the riots at the start of the month. These public events will give local residents, businesses and organisations the chance to have their say on how the borough should respond to the recent public disorder in Camden.

Cllr Nash Ali, Leader of the Council will attend each summit, along with senior officers from the Borough police, and your ward councillors.

The summits are being in advance of the next Full Council meeting on 12 September at which time has been specially set aside to reflect on the riots and debate how best to move forward from them in Camden.  These three summits are intended to feed into councillors’ deliberations at that meeting; the meeting on 6 September is intended for everyone who lives or has a business in the north-west of the borough, so please do tell friends and neighbours in the area about it.

You can also find out more on the pages of ‘wearecamden‘, where there is a Kilburn microsite too.

Please call Olivia Mensah at Camden on 020 7974 6409 to confirm attendance.
